Personal Space, Please

COVID cases are on the rise again, and while there are no mask mandates or social distance requirements, people still want to maintain safe distances from potentially ill individuals. Create more personal space for your customers by removing free standing floor displays! Move the display or the contents of the display to an endcap. Free standing displays gravitate to lean up against a pole shrinking the space between two fixtures and/or cramping the start and end of an aisle.

Allergy relief

As the cold and moist air starts to move in, people start spending more time indoors, and mold allergy becomes a threat. Boost the inventory and promote your store brand antihistamines: don't cut out the major brand names. Do merchandise and use signs to promote your preferred generic brand. A little 60-second video on your business Facebook page, Instagram or TikTok, letting people know about your allergy relief choices, will go a long way. Post that video today, before you forget.

How Scary is Your Halloween ROI?

Did you take great notes from last year's Halloween? I suggest you get your Halloween decorations and candy on the shelves as soon as possible. If you haven't ordered your Halloween candy yet, maybe you shouldn't do it at all. If you do, expect single-serve candy like Reese's peanut butter pumpkin to do "just ok." When it comes to the bag, and boxed candy, continue to avoid the seasonal packages... and check out my Halloween worksheet.
