Price your products right

I was in a chain store this week, straightening their greeting cards. I noticed that the store was using four different floor displays! All but one looked nearly untouched. I saw that the three nonproducing displays' items were not priced! The next time I go in, I will be sure to point out that they screwed up. Fellow merchandisers make it a point that every product on display is priced correctly with the correct retail.

Discover the magic of displays for cross merchandising

Floor and counter displays are excellent for cross-merchandising and encouraging impulse and companion sales. The best example: vitamins in the allergy, cough, and cold area. For this reason, merchandisers also need to check with their wholesalers for any display that makes good sense for their stores. However, if you are a merchandiser/store owner who loves cross-merchandising, then the 2023 NCPA Annual Convention is your field of dreams. It's no secret that many exhibitors at this year's NCPA trade show will have a number of displays, many with show deals! Tip: Before you sign on the dotted line, determine who is paying for the freight!


Retail riches from trade show deals

When you buy from a trade show, there is a good chance you will get a discount. THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO REDUCE THE RETAIL! Sorry for screaming. Also, remember that the deal is mostly a one-time deal, meaning your profit margin will change when you reorder! Start pricing from day one with your regular retail.
